Rosie and Alex celebrated their Northumberland wedding on a sunny Friday in mid-August, with clear blue skies setting the scene for a polished and elegant countryside celebration.
Details of the day
The day began with a traditional church ceremony before everyone headed to Slaley Hall for the celebrations. Set near Hexham, Slaley Hall is a former Edwardian mansion surrounded by 1,000 acres of Northumberland countryside. Giving it plenty of space and natural scenery for a countryside wedding.
The ceremony took place in a traditional stone church, with flowers adorning the archway leading into the ceremony. The ivory blooms and touches of greenery fitted beautifully with the natural setting and the elegant feel of the day.
Rosie wore an A-line satin wedding gown with an off-the-shoulder detail, finished with a cathedral-length veil. The clean silhouette and satin fabric brought a classic elegance to her bridal look.
Alex wore a three-piece charcoal suit with an ivory bow tie. His groomsmen wore matching charcoal suits, with bow ties in varied shades of sage and forest green.
The bridesmaids complemented the colour palette in full-length sage green dresses, creating a cohesive look alongside the ivory and greenery used throughout the wedding.
The reception continued the ivory and green colour palette. With botanical details bringing a fresh countryside feel to the bright and airy space.
Tables were dressed with ivory floral centrepieces, while the bouquets combined ivory flowers with touches of greenery. The simple palette kept the styling elegant while tying together the natural surroundings and the different elements of the day.
The wedding guests brought plenty of colour of their own. Arriving in vibrant outfits that added another layer of brightness to the celebration.

The cake was a four-tiered ivory design, with a selection of flavours including chocolate, vanilla, lemon and lavender. With something different in each tier, it offered plenty of choice for guests when it was time for cake.
As the evening arrived, the celebration moved outdoors around cosy fire pits, where guests could toast marshmallows together.
